The Paradise Winds are a mutating chamber ensemble of highly trained wind virtuosi programming entertaining and sustainable concert music intended to connect with all audiences. Most members of the Paradise Winds started performing together in 2005 at Arizona State University while pursuing masters and doctoral studies in woodwind performance at the Herberger Institute School of Music. Since that time, they have appeared in a variety of classically- and unusually-oriented concerts at ASU and abroad, on American Public Media’s Performance Today, and with surrounding area ensembles, such as The Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Arizona, Symphony of the West Valley, Symphony of the Southwest, and the Musica Nova Orchestra.

As chamber musicians, members of the Paradise Winds have assisted on many outstanding recitals at ASU School of Music and have appeared with several Phoenix- and Tucson-based concert series and programs and with the Classical Revolution PHX. Aside from performing, artists of the Paradise Winds are faculty at various schools in the Maricopa County Community College District, Arizona State University and Eastern Michigan University, and they maintain private teaching studios and other small enterprises. Several of the Paradise Winds membership have received awards in research and performance and have served as professional musicians with branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and in special positions nationally and abroad.
